Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will battle it out at Sheikh Zayad Stadium in Abu Dhabi for the number one spot on the points table. Delhi Capitals had their chance last night when they took on Sunrisers Hyderabad, but the former were absolutely dominated by SRH, losing by 88 runs.

Mumbai and Bangalore will be entering the clash with a defeat on their back. Mumbai lost to Rajasthan Royals and RCB lost to Chennai Super Kings. Coincidently, both teams chose to bat in their respective last games and their opponents won by eight wickets.

However, seeing what has transpired in the last couple of days in the tournament, nobody has secured a playoff spot yet and both teams will be finishing their matches against DC and SRH, who are also fighting for a playoffs spot. Tonight both teams will be raring for a win thus securing two crucial points.

When RCB and MI met earlier this season, the match went into Super Over and RCB came out on top. Mumbai had won the toss and asked Bangalore to bat first. AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, and Aaron Finch hit fifties taking the score to 201-3. In reply, MI’s Ishan Kishan smashed 99 in just 58 balls and Keiran Pollard hit 60 off 24, with a boundary on the last bowl, tying the game and taking it into Super Over.

For this game, RCB could bring back Isuru Udana into the playing XI in Moen Ali’s place. MI may not tinker with their team despite posting photographs of Rohit Sharma practicing in the nets. Mumbai wouldn’t want to rush the skipper back from injury.
