Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu have landed in Chennai to begin preparations for the Indian Premier League just a month away.

According to a leading news agency, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that the IPL franchise is looking to commence its camp in March. “We are looking to start our camp from March 8 or 9 as we look to prepare for the upcoming edition of the IPL. We are looking at Tamil Nadu boys who are part of the squad to join,” Viswanathan told the news agency, adding that Dhoni, Rayudu and other available players will be part of the camp.

CSK is one of the many teams known to begin their IPL preparation quite early. The side had a dismal IPL performance last year. The team beat defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening game of the tournament and went on to lose the next three however, the team managed to win their last three matches. The team finished seventh in the points table. Veterans Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out before the tournament could start citing personal reasons. During the tournament, few players faced injuries and the team struggled.
