The makers of Mammooty's The Priest announced that the movie will be released on March 11. The movie, which was supposed to hit the theatres on March 4, was postponed since the government banned second shows. Since the government issued the order permitting second shows, the team of The Priest has decided the new release date.

Along with Mollywood megastar Mammooty, Manju Warrier will be playing the female lead role in the movie. The duo is teaming up for the first time and earlier the actress had shared her happiness in acting with the megastar. The movie is directed by Jofin T Chacko will see Nihkila Vimal, Baby Monicka, Saniya Iyappan and many in other lead roles.

The makers of the movie expect that the second show will help to attract more audience to theatres. The movie will hit 225 screens in Kerala.

Under the banner Anto Joseph Film Company and RD Illuminations, the movie is produced by Anto Joseph, B Unnikrishnan and VN Babu. The Priest is a thriller and family entertainer movie which targets the family audience.

Meanwhile, after months of waiting, the Disaster Management Department has allowed restarting second shows in movie theatres, which were stopped due to the wake of the pandemic. Also, the timings of the theatres working have been rescheduled following the demand of Kerala Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala. From 9 am to 9 pm, the operating hours have been rescheduled to 12 noon to 12 at night.
