Manju Warrier’s mother, Girija Warrier, has been a constant source of inspiration to the actress-cum-dancer. Manju in December 2020 took to social media to share an article written by her mother. The article was published in a Malayalam Daily’s magazine.

“Proudly sharing an article written by my Amma, published in the latest issue of the Grihalakshmi magazine. One of her articles is being published after almost 46 years since her college days,” wrote Manju, sharing the article.

Just last month, on her mother’s birthday the How Old Are You? actress posted a note that went viral. The note read, “Happy Birthday to my superstar. Mom still amazes and proves it’s never too late to start something new in life.”

Girija will be performing the role of Panchali in Kalyana Sougandhikam Kathakali at the Peruvanam Mahadeva Temple on March 9, 2021 as part of the Shivarathri celebrations. Girija, who is studying Mohiniyattam, was persuaded by a friend to take up Kathakali after watching a 70-year-old performing Kathakali. A disciple of Kathakali exponent Kalamandalam Gopi, Girija is making her debut performance at the Temple.

Meanwhile, Manju’s daughter Meenakshi Dileep is winning the Internet with a recent dance video, with netizens comparing her with her mother, for her graceful performance. In the video, Meenakshi is seen setting the stage on fire during the Sangeet ceremony of her friend Aysha Nadirshah.
