Actress Honey Rose never fails to mesmerize her followers with new photographs of herself every other day. Recently, the actress shared a teaser video of photoshoot, which is currently grabbing headlines. In the video, a saree-clad Honey slips and falls into a river during a photoshoot. However, according to Aghosh Vyshnavam, the photographer who led the photoshoot ‘Art’ Official Celebrity Series with Honey Rose’, everyone in the team had at one point or the other had slipped during the shoot.
For Aghosh Vyshnavam, a professional fashion photographer, 2020 marked his having served 16 years in the industry. “I have always wanted to do something that satisfied the creator in me. The ‘Art’ Official Series’ gives me that satisfaction as I will be able to present my models in the colours, shape or pattern I want to paint,” he says.
Through the ‘Art’ Official Celebrity Series by Aghosh Vyshnavam’ hopes to rid viewers of the ‘stereotype’ they have associated an actor with. For instance, most people associate actor Honey Rose with Western wear as most of the characters she has performed to date has shown her in bold roles and in Western wear. It is tough to imagine her in ethnic wear. “I did enough home work when it comes to makeup and costume for this particular photo shoot to exhibit Honey Rose traditionally. Makeup artist Rajisha and I took nearly 10 days to plan things with Honey. Our aim was to release the series by New Year and we were successfully able to do it,” says the photographer.
When asked why he zoomed on Honey, Aghosh says, “Years back, I did a cover shoot featuring Honey for a leading magazine. One of the photos from the shoot turned viral. The magazine became a client for years and I was able to contribute a lot of great pictures for them. That is a reason why I choose her without a second thought.”
For the first series of Art’ Official, the photographer chose nature as a theme. Although he had searched for many other, he decided on Thommankuthu waterfalls in Thodupuzha as obtaining permission for others was difficult due to Covid related restrictions. We wanted an earthy background for the pictures. With special permission, we were able to complete the shoot successfully,” says the photographer who encouraged Honey to smile mysteriously, almost Mona Lisa-like.
“I wanted it to be different from the usual shoots. This series is for me and not for any client. I wanted to satisfy the creator in me. I wanted Honey’s smile to imply that she has a hidden divinity,” says the photographer, who plans to follow up with other celebrities for the series.
According to Aghosh, despite it being eight years since he last worked with Honey, she showed the same level of energy, support, and commitment in her work. “In fact I felt that after these many years of experience I would be able to do a much better job, than eight years ago. When I introduced the subject to Honey, she was interested and agreed. I was lucky Honey gave me the freedom to unleash my creativity. As a result I was able to deliver an excellent product.”
Following Covid protocol such as social distancing was a challenge during the shoot. “And even though we had to halve our crew and observe social distancing, we enjoyed the shoot as we loved what we were doing and were totally into our work. The praises we are receiving for our work is a result of our hard work,” says Aghosh, who did DOP for the film Thilothama and numerous short films.
