Actor Dulquer Salmaan was seemingly caught flouting traffic rules in a video that has since morning gone viral. The actor was spotted driving his blue Porsche on the wrong side of the road at the Alappuzha bypass. The incident was captured by two youngsters who followed him on a scooter.

In the video uploaded by Instagram handle mhmd_jazil, a Porsche with license plate TN 6W 369 is seen waiting at a traffic signal but on the wrong lane. A traffic policeman is then seen instructing the driver of the car to turn his vehicle and enter the right lane. The youngsters who were capturing the video are shown following the car until their scooter runs out of fuel.

In their post, they said that the actor did not deliberately break the rules, as it is a common occurrence to the drivers in the bypass. They claim that they made the very same mistake that he did, and the police officer was very “friendly about it”. The post adds that the actor reversed his car after the traffic cop asked him to, “but it was saddening that social media decided to picture it differently”.

"It is very common to mistake the entrance of the bypass because it was constructed that way. Even we, who are Alappuzha residents, have made the mistake. There are no signboards to point the right way,” the post said.

Although it’s unclear who is behind the wheel of the car as the driver is donning a mask, the driver responds to the biker and videographer when they call him, ‘Kunjikka’, a term of endearment his fans have given the actor, who has starred in movies such as Bangalore Days, Karwaan, Mahanati, and The Zoya Factor.

Dulquer and his father Mammootty are both car enthusiasts. The duo has several luxury vehicles in their garage including the Jaguar XJ L, Porsche Cayenne S Diesel, Toyota Land Cruiser, and BMW M3.
