Amitabh Bachchan, better known as Big B, shared a monochrome picture from his younger days on social media. The picture featured his late mother, Teji Bachchan, brother Ajitabh Bachchan along with a teenaged Amitabh Bachchan. The photograph was posted to mark the death anniversary of his mother.
Along with the picture shared, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “That special moment with Ma and younger brother when you got your first bush shirt.”
Social activist Teji Bachchan was married to renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. She had made a cameo appearance in a movie featuring her son Amitabh Bachchan in Yash Chopra’s Kabhi Kabhie. She also portrayed the role of Lady Macbeth in her husband’s Hindi adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. On December 21, 2007, Teji Bachchan passed away after prolonged illness at the age of 93.
In his official blog, Big B also wrote an emotional note on his mother’s death anniversary. He said, “The misery of departure is such as incessant grief.. it leaves one silenced and filled with a void that one feels shall never ever be filled… the pain of the ones that are left behind to grieve is uncontrollable.. and most difficult to perceive.” He added, “(It) is the remembrance of the departure of Ma…Maa ji…she left us… the most beautiful Mother in the world…they all are, the most beautiful…that is why they are Ma.”
The actor in an earlier post had shared a throwback picture from a movie that never got released.
