Sania Mirza is all set to make her digital debut with MTV Nishedh Alone Together. The ace tennis player plays herself in this ‘self-shot-at-home’ fiction series that aims at raising awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) and the importance of proper medication, especially in the Covid-19 era.
Sania, while speaking to media said TB continues to be a chronic health issue in the country. According to the former double world No. 1, she hopes that her presence in the show will help in some way to collectively fight the societal conventions and bring about a positive change. Sania will be addressing the challenges of a young couple, Vicky and Megha (played by Syed Raza Ahmed and Priya Chauhan) faced during the lockdown.
MTV Nishedh Alone Together, a five-episode series that will be launched on the social media handles of MTV India and MTV Nishedh in the last week of November, is a spin-off of the TV show MTV Nishedh, which premiered in January this the year. MTV Nishedh, which explored taboo but important subjects like abortion, healthy contraceptive methods and the toxic masculinity that prevails in the mind-set of men, aimed at educating and entertaining through powerful stories using the youth as a catalyst to change.
