According to various reports, Saudi Arabia will be temporarily closing its land borders and will likely suspend international flights for a week following the detection of a new Coronavirus strain in the UK, which has now spread to certain other countries in Europe. If the situation turns severe, the ban could be extended for an additional week. Those who have travelled to certain countries in Europe will have to enter self isolation for two weeks. Also, those who have travelled to any of these countries in the past three months will have to take Covid test.

Turkish Health Minister Dr Fahrettin Koca tweeted that a temporary suspension of flights from England, Denmark, the Netherlands and South Africa to Turkey has been decided following the instructions of Turkish President and also in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. He further added that as a precaution, all passengers from the countries where the new variant is identified, will be tested and quarantine rules will be ensured for flights still scheduled to these countries.

Amid the new restrictions, special flights will be arranged to bring Turkish citizens back home.

According to UK Health officials, a new variant of the Coronavirus emerged in UK. Following this, parts of the country is in lock down. The new strains of the Coronavirus has also been detected in the Netherlands, Denmark, South Africa and Australia.
