The Punjab Police seems to be trending with their small acts of kindness lately. Just last week, the armed police team from Punjab who were in Kerala as part of the election assignment were in the news when they pooled in money for GLPS, Kayamkulam, the school they stayed in during their assignment. The money will be used to repaint the school walls and the main gate said Bindu TV, the headmistress of the school.

The Ferozepur Police of the Punjab Police in the meanwhile were recently lauded for sponsoring the wedding expenses of a woman from an underprivileged family. The Punjab Police who tweeted about the Ferozepur Police’s kind gesture yesterday saw a mixed response from the twitterati.

One Twitter user said, “Wow! That's great. May the police continue with the real sense of duty and ethos, our society will be a shining star. Kudos, team Harsahai. This beautiful message and gesture needs to be spread and appreciated,” another wrote, “Other police force in India should follow, this news should be highlighted and sent to all Government offices across India for motivation and inspiration.”

One skeptical user in the meantime wondered where the police got their funds to hold the wedding from.
