Addressing the Pinarayi Vijayan-Amit Shah bout in public, Kerala Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala said that it is a “conspiracy between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan”. He was speaking at a press conference in Delhi alongside KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran and former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

“The central investigation into gold and dollar smuggling has evaporated in the play, which is aimed to deceive the public. This is a consequence of the political alliance between the CPM and the BJP, aimed at defeating the Congress and the UDF,” Ramesh Chennithala said, adding that this long-running effort has been rejected by the enlightened people of Kerala.

During the concluding ceremony of the BJP’s Vijaya yatra, Shah had said that he has evidence regarding the mysterious death of someone related to the gold smuggling scam in Kerala. However, he refused to divulge the details. “Why aren’t the central agencies investigating the mysterious death mentioned by Amit Shah? Why is Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is in charge of the Home Department, refusing to explain this? The CM should say whether the murder mentioned by Amit Shah took place.” Ramesh said.

“Amit Shah shouldn’t act like an angel in Kerala, as he is the personification of communalism in India. As the man, who organised the Gujarat riots, gave leadership to torture and harass minorities in the country, and who led the Muslim persecution in the country, Amit Shah’s efforts won’t work in Kerala,” the Opposition Leaders said, adding that the people need to know the deal Amit Shah and Pinarayi Vijayan.

Moreover, Ramesh also asked why, despite the statement made by the main accused in the dollar case under section 164, there is no inquiry against the Chief Minister and the Speaker. “The Lavalin case has been postponed 26 times. No matter how much the CPM and the BJP compromise, the people of Kerala will reject it,” he added.
