An exercise instructor from Myanmar’s capital Naypyidaw has shot to fame after a video of her doing aerobic exercise accidently captured the Myanmar military rushing to the assembly in what seems to be the first indication of the coup.

In what seems to be similar to an episode of the TV series Black Mirror or a cutaway scene from The Family Guy, the video features a typical spirited exercise music to which the woman, who is reportedly identified as Khing Hnin Wai, dances away. She is, however, oblivious to the historic incidents happening behind her as black SUVs and military vehicles rush to the Myanmar assembly to capture power.

In the meantime, social media users are having a field day with the video, with some creative netizens editing her into other historic incidents including the destruction of the Hindenberg and US Capitol storming. Links to both are given below.

Many have also pointed out that the perky music accompanying the military force rushing in to capture the government was probably the best example of a dark humour often seen in movies and series of such nature. Some even went on to add that 2021 continues to impress in the quirkiest ways possible.

At around 3 am on Tuesday, Khing Hnin Wai posted on her social media to say that she had filmed many videos in the location before. She added that she had been filming dance videos outside the assembly for 11 months. “How harmonic with the background music and background scenery!” Khing Hnin Wai said, adding, “Before I heard the news in the morning, the video I made for the aerobic dance competition has become an unforgettable memory.”
