Recently there was a decline in India’s daily infections which fell below 50,000. However, in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry’s data has revealed that the country witnessed 50,210 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the country recorded 38,310 new cases. On Wednesday, 46,253 fresh cases were registered. The rise in the number of daily cases has indicated that the spread of the infection is relentless during the festive season.
On the bright side, the number of recoveries is going up. Presently, the number of active Covid-19 cases in India is 5,27,962.
Although, over 50,000 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, well over 55,000 people have been discharged. The country has witnessed 704 deaths in the past 24 hours.
According to Wednesday’s data, Kerala, New Delhi, Maharashtra and West Bengal are reporting the maximum number of new Covid cases.
On Wednesday, New Delhi recorded its highest ever daily tally of 6,842 new Covid-19 cases. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has admitted that a third wave of infection has hit the nation’s capital.
