Police have arrested four people in Varanasi for allegedly listing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Varanasi office for Rs 7.5 crore on OLX website on Friday.

According to news agencies, the police caught wind of the situation after BJP leader Ashok Pandey found the advertisement on the website. “I came across the advertisement on OLX which said that the building was being sold for Rs 7.5 crore. The building is under currently rent and not for sale. Some miscreants did this,” he told news agencies.

According to the police, the accused took a photograph of Modi’s Jansampark Kaaryalay (public relations office) and listed it for sale. The office is situated in Jawahar Nagar. Police have said that further investigation into the matter is underway.

PM Modi currently represents the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency. He became Prime Minister after winning the Varanasi seat in 2014 and 2019.
