Assam Assembly elections: BJP leading in 27 constituencies, Congress leading in eight

Trends are showing that BJP will win the Assam election and become the first non-Congress party to win back to back Assembly elections in the state

According to Election Commission, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will look to retain power in Assam as it is leading in 28 constituencies. The Congress is leading in eight constituencies, while its alliance partner, the AIUDF alliance is leading in one constituency. The majority mark in Assam is 64 seats

Trends are showing that BJP will win the Assam election and become the first non-Congress party to win back to back Assembly elections in the state. The BJP went all out to campaign in the eastern state. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will likely continue for another term.

The CAA-NRC has been a major issue leading up to the Assam elections. However, seems like the people of Assam have put their faith in BJP.
