A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by around 9 people at different places for nearly eight days in Jhalawar at Rajasthan. Among the nine accused, two are minors. The girl happened to survive and reach her home on Friday after which a complaint was filed.
According to police, four of the accused, including two minors, have been arrested. Suket DSP Manjeet Singh said that the victim alleged that her friend Bulbul and another youth Chothmal took the girl to Jhalawar city on the pretext of buying a school bag for her on February 25. The victim further claims that two to three other men joined them at a park where she was given drugs and later raped by them. The girl alleges that at least around nine people had abused her at different places in Jhalawar for over eight days.
The police said that reportedly a medical examination of the girl was conducted immediately and four of the accused were arrested. The investigation is underway to arrest the rest, said police.
Meanwhile, earlier in another case, a 30-year-old woman was set on fire allegedly by the rapist in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district on Thursday. According to the police, the woman, who suffered 70 percent burn injuries, was rushed to a Bikaner hospital considering her critical condition. “We have detained the accused — identified as Pradeep Bishnoi. He is currently being interrogated,” said Praful Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Bikaner range.
