A man supposedly killed his wife and then committed suicide at Atholi, Kozhikode. Krishnan (59) is said to have bludgeoned his wife, Shobana (50), to death with a log and then committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree near their house.
According to reports, Krishnan beat Shobhana in her sleep. Alerted by her screams, the neighbours came running but Krishnan had fled the place by then. Krishnan’s body was found hanging on a tree near his house on Thursday morning. A family dispute is said to be the reason behind the murder. Forensic experts examined the bodies. The bodies have been sent for postmortem. The couple leaves behind their daughters, Remya and Dhanya.
Meanwhile in Bhopal, a man attacked his wife over suspected infidelity. Pritam Singh Sisodia attacked his wife Sangeeta with a farsa (a sharp-edged weapon) under the influence of alcohol on the suspicion of infidelity. The 32-year-old is said to have cut off his wife’s hand and foot with the weapon. According to reports, Pritam suspected his wife was having an affair and attacked her in a drunken fit. The incident happened late on Tuesday night in the Paras Nagar locality under the Nishatpur police station. Sangeeta is hospitalised and undergoing treatment. Post the violent act, Pritam locked himself inside a room. The police have nabbed the suspect and registered a case of attempt to murder.
