Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Embassy Taurus TechZone’s Keystone — its new 62,500 sq ft prefabricated incubation facility — in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. “Taurus Downtown Trivandrum is a landmark project of this government. Keystone is a one-of-its-kind office facility in Kerala. It’s great that these companies can start with their operations through Keystone even before their office spaces in Embassy Taurus TechZone become functional,” said Pinarayi Vijayan.

The first of its kind IT/ITES office facility in Kerala, Keystone is also the first functional office space building in Embassy Taurus TechZone, the 2 million sq. ft world-class SEZ office space, being jointly developed by Taurus Investment Holdings India and the Embassy Group in Taurus Downtown Trivandrum.

The launch was also attended by Minister for Tourism, Co-operation and Devaswoms Kadakampally Surendran, Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor MP, city Mayor Arya Rajendran and others including Technopark CEO Sasi P Meethal, Taurus India MD Ajay Prasad and Embassy Group COO Aditya Virwani. “I genuinely believe that the completion of Taurus Downtown project will bring a lot of companies into this part of Technopark, enhancing Thiruvananthapuram’s reputation as the ideal location for technology companies and their employees and families,” said Shashi Tharoor.

The Downtown Trivandrum project consists of IT/ITES office space, retail and entertainment centre, business class hotel, and serviced residential complex. It will also include a co-working space provided by WeWork and Mexico-based Cineplex would set up Kerala’s largest 15- screen multiplex in Taurus Zentrum, which includes Kerala’s first IMAX screen. The project on completion is expected to generate over 30,000 direct jobs.

The EarthCam monitoring system, inaugurated by the Tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran, is a first of its kind facility used in India by Taurus Downtown Trivandrum. This will enable live tracking and closer monitoring of the construction activities on-site for all concerned stakeholders. As a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, health kits were distributed to schools around the region by Arya Rajendran at the launch ceremony.

“It is notable that health kits are being distributed to government schools students in the area. The project, on completion, will also benefit the local businesses around Technopark,” said Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran on delivering the Presidential Address at the launch ceremony.

On delivering the welcome address at the launch, Ajay Prasad said, “We are equally thrilled to relaunch the construction work of Niagara. This world-class building will open its doors to over 10,000 technology professionals next year. This marks the beginning of a phased restart of work across the 4 million square foot first phase of the Taurus Downtown project. It will act as the nucleus of Technopark and a new city centre for Trivandrum and help to power its growth as we recover from the effects of the pandemic.”

Meanwhile, Aditya Virwani said that Keystone prefabricated office space was set up in a record time of eight months. “Since its inception in August 2019, and is now ready for immediate occupation. We are positive that this will accelerate commercial activity in the region.”
