The United States of America has approved the emergency use of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

While authorizing the vaccine’s emergency use in the US, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has deemed the PFizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine as safe and effective. US President Donald Trump said that the first immunization will take place “in less than 24 hours, adding that the United States has achieved a medical miracle. “We have a delivered a safe and effective vaccine in nine months,” he said.

Reportedly, health workers, frontline workers and the elderly will be administered the vaccine first. The Pfizer Vaccine is said to be 95% effective against Covid-19. In the US, more 2,95,000 people have succumbed to Covid-19. Approving the vaccine is historical for the country. Before the vaccine announcement, it is reported that the Trump administration had been pressurizing the FDA to approve the vaccine. According to reports, millions of Pfizer vaccine have been already shipped off to the US, hours after the FDA approved the Covid-19 vaccine.

Countries the United Kingdom, Canada, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have already approved the vaccine. The UK has already begun administrating the vaccine to its people.
