Actress Dia Mirza and her beau Vaibhav Rekhi exchanged wedding vows in Mumbai on Monday. The wedding, held at the garden area of Dia's Bandra residence, was a close-knit affair attended by family and close friends including actor Aditi Rao Hydari and Jackky Bhagnani. The couple, who began dating last year, posed for shutterbugs outside the wedding venue post the wedding. They even distributed sweets to the paparazzi gathered outside.
Dia wore a gorgeous red saree to her wedding with a red veil over her head. She styled her bridal look with kundan jewellery and finished it off with a maag tika. Vaibhav looked dapper in his white kurta-pyjama teamed with a golden saafa (turban).
Pictures from the wedding were shared by Dia and Vaibhav's friends on social media. Aditi, who one of Dia's close friends and is related to Vaibhav, shared a picture of herself as she stole Vaibhav's shoes for the traditional 'joota-churai' ceremony.
Earlier on Monday, Dia had taken to social media to post pictures from her bridal shower, and of her hand decorated with henna. She shared on Instagram a picture of her mehendi and captioned it “Pyaar.” Dia’s friends have also been sharing her photos from her recently-held bridal shower since Monday morning. Glowing in a white dress that had a ‘Bride to be’ sash, Dia is all smiles as she poses for the pictures. Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani, who seems to be related to Vaibhav, shared images of what seemed like a pre-wedding bash. The pictures showed the couple posing with a group of close ones. Pooja captioned the photos, writing, “Welcome to the crazy family, Dia. We love you.”
Dia was earlier married to film producer Sahil Sangha. They parted ways in 2019 after being together for 11 years. As per reports, Vaibhav’s first wife was yoga and lifestyle coach Sunaina Rekhi. The ex-couple have a daughter together. The daughter, walked Vaibhav and Mirza down the aisle. She was photographed holding a placard that said ‘Papa’s Girls’.
According to reports, Dia and Vaibhav met during the coronavirus induced lockdown and got along pretty well. After spending a couple of months getting to know each other, the two moved in together.
An Indian model, actress, producer and social worker, Dia, who won the title of Miss Asia Pacific International in 2000, made her acting debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. The actress who has starred in films such as Dus, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Sanju, launched her own production house, One India Stories in December 2019. Vaibhav is a Mumbai-based businessman.
