Tuesday’s class 10, 12 and university exams postponed owing to motor vehicle strike

The SSLC, class 12 and university exams to be held tomorrow have been postponed due to the motor vehicle strike taking place on Tuesday. The motor vehicle strike is called to protest the hike in fuel prices.

According to reports, the SSLC, VHSE and class 12 exams for Tuesday are postponed to March 8. The Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, among other colleges, exams for Tuesday are postponed and the revised dates will be announced soon.

The Samyukhta Samara Samithi called for the motor vehicle strike from 6 am to 6 pm in Kerala. Reportedly, except Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (MBS), all trade units will be participating in the 12-hour strike. The protestors have requested private vehicle owners to keep their vehicles off roads in respect of the strike. Vehicles needs such as newspapers, milk vans and wedding parties are exempted from the strike. Ambulances will be allowed to ply during the strike.

According to reports, the Samithi leaders informed that KSRTC unions and private bus associations would cooperate with the protests. As of March 1, the cost of petrol in Thiruvananthapuram is Rs 93.05 per litre. Meanwhile, the petrol price in Jaipur is currently at Rs 97.72 per litre.
