Traffic curbs imposed in Thamarassery ghat road following landslide, road improvement works

A complete restriction has been imposed on long-distance KSRTC services done through Thamarassery ghat road

Strict traffic curbs have been imposed at Thamarassery ghat road following the landslide between the ninth and eighth bends of the pass. This control is in addition to the control that is part of the pass restoration work. Only two-wheelers and small cars will be permitted through the pass.

The chain bus services of KSRTC minibusses have also been restricted. The buses have to drop the commuters at the ninth bend, then walk through the pass and board another bus to reach the base. A complete restriction has been imposed on long-distance KSRTC services done through Thamarassery ghat road. Till the completion of work, long-distance buses will be available only through the Kuttyadi Pass.

Earlier, it was decided to restrict traffic till March 15 in view of the road improvement works taken up on NH66 passing through the Thamarassery Ghat Road. Traffic will be restricted till Lakkidi from the foothills.

Vehicles coming from Wayanad to Kozhikode should take a turn from Kainatti and travel through the Nalam mile and Pakramthalam Pass. While vehicles going to Malappuram should pass through Gudalur and Nadukani Pass. However, all the lorries will be completely restricted to Lakkidi from 5 am to 10 pm.
