After interrogating Swapna Suresh, the second accused in the gold smuggling case, the Enforcement Directorate learnt that Sivasankar, former Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, had not only been aware of the criminal activities but also may have benefitted from them. Soon after they were finished with Swapna, they filed a custody request with the Sessions Court to investigate the new leads.
