According to reports, an order suggesting reinvestigation into the death of 14-year-old Aziz in Nadapuram's Narikatteri has been issued following the emergence of footages revealing that the boy was strangled to death by his brother. The case will be re-investigated by the District Crime Branch DySP. The decision was based on Kozhikode Rural SP's suggestion.

On May 12, 2020, Aziz was found hanging from a fan inside his house. The dramatic twist came to a case, which the local police and crime branch had closed as a normal suicide.

An action council has been launched as a protest demanding the arrest of the family members after the footage of strangulation came out. It is alleged that Aziz died on the day when he revealed the cruelty of his stepmother to his friends. The locals claim that Aziz had told some of them and classmates that he was being harassed at home.

The two-minute video shows Safwan, Aziz's brother, strangling and suffocating him inside the house. However, the question arises as to why the video, which was filmed at the time of the murder was not released even during the investigation, has now been released.

It is clear that the footage was captured by someone who was present at home at the time of the incident. However, it has not yet been identified who it is.

Aziz was a 10th-grade student at Perode MIM Higher Secondary School. Safwan, the brother who had attacked Asees is currently abroad. Aziz's father is a taxi driver at Nadapuram.

The case was referred to the Crime Branch following locals' complaint that the local police's investigation was not satisfactory. However, the Crime Branch had also concluded on the ground that it was a suicide.
