In a crushing blow to Binoy Kodiyeri, eldest son of former CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, the Mumbai police filed a chargesheet in the sexual abuse case against him on Tuesday. The case filed case by Mumbai police last year.
The chargesheet was submitted before Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court nearly a year after the case was filed. According to reports, the 678-page chargesheet alleges that there is evidence that Binoy sexually abused the survivor for several years.
The survivor worked as a bar dancer in Dubai and met Binoy in 2009. According to the survivor, Binoy had sexually abused her several times on the pretext of marrying her. She also claimed that Binoy was the father of her nine-year-old child. Though Binoy admitted knowing the survivor, he denied all allegations. He even filed a blackmail complaint against her.
A session court had granted Binoy bail on the condition that he provides DNA samples for a paternity test. Initially, Binoy hesitated in going for the paternity test. Earlier this July, Binoy gave his blood samples to the police and the report was submitted to the Mumbai court in a sealed envelope. However, the results of the DNA test is yet to be submitted.
