Man and woman found hanging at a lodge in Chalakudy; police recovers suicide note

A young man and woman were found hanging in a lodge in Chalakudy today. The deceased have been identified as Sajith, a native of Marottichal in Thrissur and Anitha, a native of Erode. The police have recovered a suicide note from the lodge room where the bodies were found hanging.

Two children of Anitha has also stayed with the couple at the lodge. The children reported the incident to the lodge authorities. Following the incident, both children were shifted to the nearest child care centre.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a woman who left the home to go to a temple was found dead in the temple pond near Puthuchira in Thamarakkulam on Friday. The deceased was identified as Vijayalakshmi, wife of Thamarakkulam native Pradeep.

On Thursday morning at 5:30 am, she left the house to visit Chirakkal temple. Even after hours, when she did not turn up, the family started searching for her. They were able to identify her scooter and footwear near the temple pond area. Later, they found her body in the pond. However, the police suspect the incident to be a case of suicide.
