According to reports, a KSRTC bus collided with a lorry near Pirappancode in Thiruvananthapuram and several others were injured. The bus which was heading to Thiruvananthapuram from Erattupetta met with an accident after colliding with a lorry. The lorry was on its way from Venjaramoodu to Vembayam. The accident took place at 8:45 am.
Around 21 of the bus passengers out of the 45 passengers were rushed to the medical college following the accident. According to reports, around 6 people are in critical condition. Remaining passengers were admitted to Kanyakulangara government hospital.
When the bus driver noticed that the lorry was moving out of control, the driver managed to stop the bus on the left side on the road. But, the lorry collided with the bus. Reportedly, it is believed that the lorry driver might have fallen asleep which led to the accident.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a girl committed suicide by jumped off a bridge into the river in Kochi. The incident took place when police was trying to bring down the body of a man who hanged himself from the Goshree bridge in Kochi. The deceased was identified as Briyona Nelson, a native of Pallipuram.
According to reports, Briyona was working with a software company in Ernakulam and had left the home saying that she had an interview. She was in search of a job as she lost her job due to Covid-19.
