KR Gouri Amma, the revolutionary heroine in Kerala politics, has been admitted to hospital. Gouri Amma was admitted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday night due to fever and breathing issues.

Before admitting the hospital, Gouri Amma was subjected to Covid-19 test.

Few days back only, 102-year-old KR Gowri Amma moved from her home in Alappuzha, where she was living for the last six decades, to her sister's daughter's house in Vazhuthacaud. Due to the Covid-19 situation, even visitors were subject to strict restrictions. Gowri Amma returned to Thiruvananthapuram after a decade.

Meanwhile, when the state is suffering the second wave of Covid-19, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has rejected the stand of KGMOA, an organization of doctors, that the Covid group test will have the opposite result in the state. The CM said that the organisation's argument should not be considered seriously. KGMOA, meanwhile, said the decision to increase the number of Covid tests in the state is a good move. Tests are now being carried out beyond the reach of RTPCR testing systems. We have to wait for days for the test results. The results of last week's group test are still not fully available. The test results, which are mandatory for treatment, are not happening in a timely manner.

KGMOA also said that this is adversely affecting. The human resource capacity to take test samples is also limited in the department. The decision to conduct a re-examination without considering these facts will adversely affect our health system. In view of these facts, the organization demanded that the test be extended to those with symptoms, their contacts and a specific group.
