In a press statement on Saturday, Health Minister KK Shailaja has stated that Kerala has recorded 6,357 new Covid-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, the state has tested 61,553 samples.
The state reported 6,793 recoveries on Saturday. The National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha has confirmed that the state has witnessed 26 casualties on Saturday, taking the state’s death toll to 1,848.
With today’s new Covid-19 cases, the state's active number of cases are currently at 76,927. Out of the 6,357 new cases, 5,542 contracted the infection through a contact. 107 have come outside the state while the source of infection for the remaining 645 cases is unknown.
