Kerala journalist killed in road accident, friends suspect foul play

Investigative journalist SV Pradeep lost his life after a speeding vehicle hit his two-wheeler from behind. The vehicle fled the scene after the incident.

The accident occurred at 3.30pm on the National Highway at Karakkamandapam, Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

His friends suspect that the accident was planned with an aim to kill the Pradeep.

Pradeep, who is airing his views independently through his channel "Bharat Live", has done exposing stories against political parties, leaders and religious group recently.

Earlier, he has worked as a journalist in leading media houses including Mangalam, News 18, Kairali, etc., before moving to his present role.

Fort Assitant Commissioner of Police (ACP) has constituted a special team to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that suspcision behind Pradeep's death needs to be cleared. "Since the vehicle that hit Pradeep hasn't been traced yet, therefore, it is necessary to have a high-level inquiry in order to reveal the truth behind Pradeep's death," Chennithala said.
