In connection with the gold smuggling case, the Enforcement Directorate alleges that they were unaware that Sandeep Nair, one of the accused in the case, is being questioned by the Crime Branch. They claim that Crime Branch decided to question Sandeep Nair without informing the Enforcement Directorate.

In addition, they also allege that they haven't seen the copy of the application filed by the Crime Branch in the court. The Crime Branch obtained permission to question him without hearing ED's explanation. The ED even alleged that the Crime Branch deceived the court.

The ED sources even expressed suspicion over Crime Branch's action. The ED said that they would approach the court seeking withdrawal of the order tomorrow.

Sandeep Nair, accused in the gold smuggling case, is being questioned at Poojappura Central Jail in the case against Enforcement Directorate. Earlier, the accused had written to the district judge saying that the Enforcement officials had forced him to testify against the Chief Minister while in custody. Following this, the case was filed based on a complaint filed by a lawyer.

The Ernakulam Sessions Court had already granted permission to question Sandeep. The interrogation was led by Crime Branch DySP Baiju Paulose.
