A 12-year-old boy from Vengannur, Thiruvananthapuram, succumbed to injuries while trying to imitate a YouTube video. The boy, Sivanarayanan, is a class seven student of Venganoor VPS Secondary School. Sivanarayanan is said to have sustained burns while trying to style his hair with fire after watching a popular YouTube video depicting the same. He reportedly poured kerosene over himself. The fire however soon caught on to his clothes and himself.
As he tried the act in the bathroom, no one noticed the incident. He is said to have tried the act at 8.30 pm. According to reports, only his grandmother and elder brother were at home at the time. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to injuries this morning. His body was handed over to his family after post mortem.
The Internet is ablaze with videos of barbers using fire as a technique to cut their customer's hair.
