With the Assembly elections just a few months away, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) unveiled its election campaign slogan – “Nadu Nannakan UDF (UDF to make the state better)”. UDF unveiled their slogan days after the Left Democratic Front (LDF) announced their election slogan.

Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala released the slogan at the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee. He said that Congress will build a prosperous state. “The anti-people policies of the LDF, the corruption, nepotism, illegal appointments, Life Mission case and the scandal around the Chief Minister office (CMO) in the gold smuggling case will be exposed to the people,” Chennithala said.

“The people of Kerala are looking for a change. The LDF government has stalled every arena of life in the past five years. Hence, the UDF should be brought to power to build a prosperous state,” Chennithala said.

The opposition leader added that the UDF will expose the LDF. “In the case of the Life Mission housing scheme for the poor, the government is spreading lies. LDF constructed only 2.5 lakh houses in comparison with the UDF’s achievement of 4 lakh houses during its term,” Chennithala said.

Earlier, the CPI (M)-led LDF released its slogan – “Urappanu LDF (LDF for sure)”. At the slogan launch CPI (M) state secretary A Vijayaraghavan said the slogan vows that the LDF will be back in power.

On April 6, Kerala Assembly goes to polls in a single phase in 140 districts. The counting will take place on May 2.
