Kannur University answer sheets found abandoned on the roadside; authorities to probe the matter

Hundreds of answer sheets of Kannur University was found abandoned near Kannur’s Malappattam today. The answer sheets belonged to the BCom second year examination conducted by the Department of Distant Education.

According to the preliminary investigation, the answer sheets signed by MC Rajesh, an assistant professor, were lost when he was riding his bike back home from the university after collecting the answer sheets for the assessment. Rajesh had lodged a police complaint on this matter.

The abandoned answer sheets belonged to the examination, which was held on December 23 and the result of which has not been released. The university said it would investigate the incident. However, the examination controller said that there was no fallout from the university’s side. He also clarified that the guilty teacher will be removed from examination duties. An inquiry committee chaired by professor A Sabu has been formed to look into the incident.

Meanwhile, KSU activists organised a protest march to the university. The march, led by district president Mohammed Shammas, was stopped by police on its way.
