Idukki girl’s death: Police in search of relative seen with her before the murder

The Idukki police investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl at Pallivasal has launched a search to look for a relative of the victim, who was seen along with the girl just before she died.

Police have received CCTV footage showing a cousin named Anu from Kothamangalam taking Reshma away from the school. She was a student of Bison Valley Higher Secondary School.

The 17-year-old Reshma was found dead near the Pallivasal powerhouse on Friday night. The family had lodged a complaint with the police when the girl did not return home after school hours. Later, the girl's body was found. She was stabbed in the chest. Though she was rushed to the hospital, the doctors declared her brought dead.

The autorickshaw men near the area informed the police that a relative was present along with the girl. The dead body, which is kept in the mortuary of Adimali Taluk Hospital, will be taken to Kottayam for post-mortem.

The girl's father revealed that Reshma's friend said that he had seen her going with a relative. According to reports, the relatives of the deceased girl informed the police that Reshma had a friendship with a man and there were issues with that.
