The hospital employee who attempted to molest a Covid patient at the Ulliyeri Malabar Medical College was arrested yesterday evening. The Atholi police have arrested Ashwin Krishna of Chelanoor, a purchase section employee of the hospital. Ashwin who was suspended from the hospital in connection with the incident has been working at the hospital for the past six years. He has a wife and child.
The patient was admitted at the hospital on Thursday, while her parents who were also tested Covid positive, were admitted on Sunday. According to the patient, the employee, who got her WhatsApp number from the hospital register, was sending her inappropriate messages.
Wearing a personal protection equipment kit he had allegedly taken her to a deserted floor of the hospital under the pretext of meeting the doctors. She managed to escape when he attempted to misbehave with her.
