First-year student locked, stripped, beaten up by SFI workers at Ernakulam Maharaja's College hostel

A complaint has been levelled against the Students Federation of India (SFI) workers in Ernakulam Maharaja’s College claiming that a first-year student in Maharaja's College was subjected to brutal ragging. According to the complaint, Robin, a first-year BA Malayalam student was locked inside the hostel room, beaten, and his nude photos were captured by the alleged attackers.

According to sources, the junior student was allegedly brutally ragged by a gang, including the SFI unit secretary. Robin was locked up in the hostel room on Friday, March 12, from 8 pm till 11 am on Saturday, March 13.
According to Robin’s complaint, the attackers allegedly attacked him with makeshift weapons and assaulted his knees with iron rods. Reports claim that the attackers had denied the junior student food and sleep. Moreover, the gang also threatened the victim by claiming that they would trap him in fake cases if he dared to file a complaint against them.

According to the complaint, Robin was tortured by the gang including the SFI member since he refused to collect funds for the party. The Ernakulam police have registered a case against the accused and an investigation is underway.
