BJP State president K Surendran has officially declared India's 'metro man' as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate in Kerala today. Even before the official announcement, the metro man had hinted about the offering. K Surendran made the official announcement while addressing the gathering during BJP's Vijay Yatra.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is most likely to handover the Palarivattom bridge after completing the last stage of minor construction works by tomorrow, said Metro man E Sreedharan. He said while undertaking the final inspection of the construction works. He said that the load test will be completed today and DMRC undertook the construction work aiming to help the public and not eyeing profits. Also, the report of the load test will be handed over to the government today.

He said, "This is a proud moment. We were able to complete the construction works on time. Special thanks to the Uralungal Society. The State government will decide about the inauguration of the bridge. After completing minor works, the bridge is most likely to be handed over to Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK) by Sunday."

The Metro man further said today will be his last day in this uniform as he would resign as DMRC's chief adviser before the upcoming Assembly elections.

He said that the Palarivattom Bridge would be highlighted in the Assembly elections and hoped that the BJP would come to power in Kerala.

While reacting to questions relating to his candidature, he said that he hasn't decided the constituency and wishes to contest from a seat near Ponnani where he currently resides. He further said that he would act as a technocrat and not as a politician and will reach people as part of election campaign with the help of digital messages in the digital age and won't be a door-to-door campaign.

The construction works of the Palarivattom Bridge was completed in five months. Meanwhile, BJP State president K Surendran said that Sreedharan thanked Uralungal society since he is unaware of the corruption of the society.
