Development in Kerala through Central projects: BJP president JP Nadda in Dharmadom

With the Kerala elections in sight, big wigs of all major parties have landed in the state to bolster their strength. The latest in line is BJP national president JP Nadda who landed in Kannur to support CK Padmanabhan in Dharmadom where Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is contesting from.

Nadda said that the LDF and UDF have been ruling Kerala interchangeably and both have been corrupt so far. Examples are the gold smuggling case of Swapna Suresh during the LDF government and the solar case of Saritha during the UDF government. “The gold smuggling took place with the knowledge of the Chief Minister’s office. The Kerala CM wrote to the Centre requesting an investigation of the central agencies, and the same CM opposed the investigation when he learnt that his ministers would get caught,” Nadda added.

Hitting out against the “developmental narrative” in the state, Nadda said that the major development in Kerala has been done through the Centre’s projects, adding that the Center allocated funds for the Metro project and LPG pipeline. He also explained how Prime Minister Narendra Modi rushed to the aid of the state during the Puttingal temple fire in Kollam in 2016. He added that, on the other hand, Manmohan Singh never looked back at the state during his tenure as the PM.

Nadda will participate in a roadshow for Thrissur Natika NDA candidate Lochanan, and after inaugurating Thodupuzha NDA candidate Shyam Raj’s public event, Nadda would move to Thiruvananthapuram.
