Angry Kannur youth demolishes neighbour’s shop with JCB

Drawing inspiration from a scene in the Prithviraj and Biju Menon-starrer Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Albin, a 30-year-old man from Cherupuzha, Kannur, decided to take matter into his own hands by demolishing his neighbour’s shop with an excavator.

Albin, in a video posted on social media, claims that the neighbour’s shop was used for unlawful activities. He was also supposedly disgruntled with the neighbor for stalling the marriage proposals that came his way.

“The shop is used for illegal gambling and liquor trade; we the youngsters of this are upset with this. We are not getting a positive response from the cops or village authorities, so I am going to demolish this shop,” he says in the video. Albin goes on to say that the shop owner had stalled many of his marriage proposals. The video captures Albin demolishing the shop with a JCB at the end of his monologue.

Albin has been arrested and remanded by the police. According to officials, Albin has been charged for illegally demolishing the shop. A probe is still underway in the incident.
