RSS activists and main accused Sanjay Jith and co-accused Jishnu Thampi's arrest has been recorded in connection with the Vallikunnam Abhimanyu murder case.

According to the accused, the murder was due to previous animosity. Sanjay Jith, the main accused in the stabbing case had surrendered before the Palarivattom police on Friday. The co-accused, Jishnu Thampi was identified following Sanjay's interrogation. Later, Palarivattom police took Jishnu into custody.

According to the police, it was Sanjay Jith who stabbed Abhimanyu during the verbal spat at the temple ground and Jishnu helped Sanjay escape after the murder.

On Wednesday night, amidst a verbal spat during the Padayanivettom temple festival, Abhimanyu was stabbed to death. While interacting with the media earlier, Charumoodu area committee secretary Binu said that Abhimanyu was an active SFI member.

However, Abhimanyu's father Ambili Kumar had confirmed that he was not a political activist. He said, "Abhimanyu is a tenth class student and got an examination today. He never gets involved in any violence or dispute. His brother Anandhu is a DYFI activist. Even though all the family members are communists, Abhimanyu was never active in politics."
