On Thursday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the state has reported 6,820 new Covid cases.
In a press conference held in Thiruvananthapuram, the CM said that 61,388 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The NIV Alappuzha has confirmed 26 deaths due to Covid-19 in the state. The state's death toll has risen to 1,613.
5,135 persons contracted the virus through contact out of which the the infection source of 730 is unknown. The state has also reported 7,699 recoveries on Thursday. Currently, there are 84,087 active cases in the state. The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) now stands at 11.11%.
