Kerala reports 7,007 new Covid-19 cases; 7,252 recover from virus

In the last 24 hours, state has tested 64,129 samples; NIV Alappuzha has confirmed 29 deaths due to Covid-19 taking the state’s death toll to 1,771.

In a press statement, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja has informed that the state has reported 7,007 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, Kerala has tested 64,129 samples.

Currently, Kerala has 78,420 active Covid-19 cases. Out of the 7,007 new cases, 6,152 people got the virus through contact while the source of the remaining 717 cases is still unknown. 86 new patients are from outside the state.

The state has also reported 7,252 recoveries which has taken the recoveries toll to 4,22,410. Meanwhile, NIV Alappuzha has confirmed 29 deaths due to Covid-19 taking the state’s death toll to 1,771. The state’s Test Positivity Rate is 10.92%
