On Tuesday, Kerala reported 5,792 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. In a press statement by Health Minister KK Shailaja, the state has collected 56,157 in the last 24 hours. Currently, Kerala has 70,070 active Covid-19 cases.
Out of 5,792 cases, 4,985 persons were infected through contact, 104 persons infected came from outside the state. However, the source of infection for 639 cases is still unknown.
Kerala also reported 6,620 recoveries, taking the recovery toll to 4,61,394. However, the National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha confirmed that there were 27 casualties, taking the state’s death toll to 1,915. It has also been reported that 64 health workers are also infected by the virus. The test positivity rate of Kerala is 10.31%.
