Kerala reported 6,419 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. In a press statement by Health Minister KK Shailaja, the state has collected 67,369 samples in the last 24 hours. Currently, Kerala has 69,394 active Covid-19 cases.
Out of 6,419 cases, 5,576 persons were infected through contact, 98 persons infected came from outside the state. However, the source of infection for 677 cases is still unknown.
Kerala also reported 7,066 recoveries, taking the recovery toll to 4,68,460. However, the National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha confirmed that there were 28 casualties, taking the state’s death toll to 1,943. The test positivity rate of Kerala is 9.53%.
