On Saturday, Kerala reported 6,250 new Covid-19 cases. In a press statement by Health Minister KK Shailaja, the state has collected 63,983 samples in the last 24 hours. Currently, Kerala has 64,834 active Covid-19 cases.
Out of 6,250 cases, 5,474 persons were infected through contact, 92 infected persons came from outside the state. However, the source of infection for 628 cases is still unknown.
Kerala also reported 5,275 recoveries, taking the recovery toll to 5,26,797. However, the National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha confirmed that there were 25 casualties, taking the state’s death toll to 2,196. The test positivity rate of Kerala is 9.77%.
