On Monday, Kerala reported 3,727 new Covid-19 cases. In a press statement by Health Minister KK Shailaja, the state has collected 33,758 samples in the last 24 hours. Currently, Kerala has 59,467 active Covid-19 cases.
Out of 3,727 cases, 2,859 persons were infected through contact, 49 infected persons came from outside the state. However, the source of infection for 328 cases is still unknown.
Kerala also reported 4,705 recoveries, taking the recovery toll to 5,77,616. However, the National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha confirmed that there were 23 casualties, taking the state’s death toll to 2,441. The test positivity rate of Kerala is 9.69%.
