Kerala reports 5,441 cases today, which is a sharp dip from the 7,201 yesterday. This can, however, be explained by the decrease in testing as well. With only 48,798 tests in the last 24 hours, this is a considerable decrease from the 64,051 tests reported yesterday. However, the Test Positivity Rate has not seen such a change with it being 11.15%. The recoveries stand at 6,853, while the authorities report 24 deaths.
Meanwhile, Ernakulam takes the top spot with 644 cases, followed by Thrissur (641), and Kozhikode (575). Around 4,700 cases are from local contact while 585 infections’ sources remain unknown. The total active cases stand at 81,823 and the total recovered is at 4,02, 477.
