These Indian states now require Covid negative reports for those travelling from Kerala

NW Staff

Delhi and West Bengal join Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in making it mandatory for passengers from Kerala to produce Covid negative reports upon arrival.

While the Delhi government announced that people travelling in flights, trains and buses from Kerala will have to produce a Covid negative test certificate before entering Delhi, West Bengal has made it mandatory for passengers travelling in flights. The Tamil Nadu government in the meantime has made it compulsory for people coming from Kerala to undergo a seven-day quarantine. Apart from the compulsory quarantine, they must also undergo a self-quarantine for another seven days. Karnataka and Delhi have earlier mandated RT-PCR tests for people arriving from Kerala.

Although Kerala is showing an incremental decline, the daily rise in cases is a cause of worry. Meanwhile, the Centre has deputed a multi-disciplinary team to Kerala to support the State in effectively tackling the pandemic.
